Scratch Junior

This term our Year K-2 students have been learning to use the program Scratch Junior as part of the Digital Technologies curriculum. Using this program has allowed the students to create their own games and animations. Explicit instruction has helped Year K-2 learn the features of this program, allowing them to make mistakes and trial new skills has helped them grow and learn.

Designing interactive games have helped the students work collaboratively with their peers and think creatively. 鈥淲e love Scratch because we can be creative and work with our friends鈥 Oceane Cruikshank & Cian Halligan

Recently they were presented with a game and had to backwards map, figuring out the code and being able to draw it using the code. Students then got the opportunity to create the game.

鈥淪cratch Juniors is really fun, we get to make games which we can play after we learn to code them. I like how we code different sprites. Sprites are different characters we use. 鈥 Kiara Hannarford鈥

鈥淪cratch is really fun, we love making characters and coding them to do funny things.鈥 Parker Wright & Innekah Cole

We are really thankful for everyone who contributed to this project and because of you we have made more than enough money we needed to sponsor our kids. This is something that 60视频app has been doing for twenty years now. Thank you everyone for making this possible as this is something that is very important to the school. Over $1000 was raised from the exciting and fun Cupcake Day in Term 2. The additional funds came from the printing of EYE Shirts.
