NCIS Basketball

15鈥檚 Girls and Boys, Open Girls and Boys.

During Term 3, four high school teams participated in the annual NCIS Basketball Gala Day at Sportz Central in Coffs Harbour. All four teams remained undefeated throughout the tournament, with most victories by more than twenty points. The enthusiasm and spirit displayed by our student-athletes were outstanding, and our basketball culture shone as every BDC team cheered each other on.

A special shout-out to our senior students, who impressively balanced studying between games, showcasing their dedication to both sport and academics. Additionally, four student referees did an excellent job, demonstrating fairness and leadership on the court. These were Maddy Potter, Bobby Wilson, Clare Kelly and Jasmeh Kaur.

For many of our Year 12 students, this was their final basketball tournament before graduating, and it was certainly one to remember.

A big thank you to Kellie Reinhold for organising the day and to our three coaches, Phil Atkinson, Tim Chapman, and Zara Baldwin, for their guidance and support.

Primary Touch Gala Day

On a sunny Tuesday morning, the BDC Stage 3 touch players headed to rugby park for a non-competitive, fun day of touch footy. Our players showcased their skill, speed, fitness and teamwork across 4 x 20 minute games. Each player and team improved through the day, as they learnt strategies and manoeuvres from their teammates and opponents. A huge thank you to Mr Freeman, Mr Haynes, Miss McCallister and Mr Zemaitis for coaching and managing the players. Teachers now have the difficult task of selecting our top players to represent BDC against the other North Coast Independent Schools next term.
